Ansonborough Inn - Charleston

Founded in 1670, Charleston was named for King Charles II as Charles Town. As the largest city in South Carolina, it’s also one of Southeast's prettiest, most luxurious, and historical cities. As a history buff, Charleston is one of my Top Five favorite cities to visit in the Carolinas! My husband and I stayed at Ansonborough Inn. It is a very Historic and Boutique hotel with a lot of character. Here’s a little snippet of what Ansonborough Inn has to say about themselves:

“Tucked away in the heart of Charleston’s historic downtown district, the Ansonborough Inn offers the warmth, heart, and authenticity of a period home but with the sophistication you’d expect from a unique boutique hotel. Take advantage of the spacious suites and the inn’s convenient location. When you’re not perusing the antiques and original oil paintings in your room, explore the historic Ansonborough neighborhood, which stretches from King Street to the edge of the Cooper River. The inn is just steps away from everything Charleston has to offer—Charleston City Market, historic houses, waterfront parks, beaches, and historic plantations.”

Home to many festivals and top culinary destinations, Charleston has endless events and restaurants to indulge in—as well as Museums, Historical sites, and other Low-country attractions. There’s more to do here than meets the eye. It may have a small-town feel but packs a big Low-country punch. There are many options between charming boutique hotels and luxurious hotels here to choose from. This spot is ideal for families of all ages, a romantic weekend getaway, as well as the ultimate girls’ trip. History and Architectural buffs are sure to be spoiled by this world-renowned town. Charleston is filled with so much to do, not to mention the historical aspect of what makes Charleston Charleston!
