THE LOBBY

There are not many Disney properties that immediately feel like a vacation within a vacation the moment you arrive. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is one of those properties. From the moment you pass the water features outside the entrance and walk into the stunning lobby to see the Maui statue, this resort welcomes you and helps you immediately release any tension you may be carrying from your travel day or your day at the parks. The two-story Great Ceremonial House is a breath of fresh air, and I love that you can always find a spot to sit and relax.

ISLAND TOWER

The recently added Island Tower packs a Polynesian Punch with four terraces located on different floors. Two facing Seven Seas Lagoon and two facing the renovated Golf Courses. Both have incredible views and a perfect spot to have a cup of coffee or bring those toddler to watch the monorail go by or the boat on Seven Seas Lagoon. The Tower holds both Studios and Villas as well as the infamous 2-Bedroom Penthouses with spectacular views. This new tower also holds an incredible sit-down dining restaurant, WaiLulu Bar & Grill. They have spectacular cuisine and breathtaking views of Seven Seas Lagoon and Magic Kingdom Park. With both indoor and outdoor seating options this place is incredibly popular.

Depending on what you are looking for with your travel party size and preferences this Deluxe Disney Resort packs a Polynesian punch! From Studios, One Bedroom Villas, Standard Hotels Rooms, 1-2 Bedroom Villas & Suites, all the way up to those famous over-the-water Bungalows.

DINING

Grab a Dole Whip from Pineapple Lanai, a snack from Capt. Cook’s, or a coffee on the second floor at Kona Island. There are a few sit-down options in the Great Ceremonial House: ‘Ohana, Kona Cafe, and the quick-service restaurant Capt. Cook’s. The big secret is to wait until 4:00 PM and sit at Tambu Lounge. They share a kitchen with ‘Ohana and offer many of the famous menu items without needing a reservation at ‘Ohana. Don’t forget you have WaiLulu Bar & Grill next door at the Island Tower.

POOLS

There are three pools at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. You have the Lava Pool, which has the famous slide and Volcano, zero-entry access, and poolside activities. You also have the Oasis Pool, which is the quiet pool. Then, next door at the new Island Tower, is the Cove Pool. It’s a much smaller pool, so most guests stick to the two main pools at the original Poly.

TRADER SAM’S

If you’re into some shenanigans, I’d definitely try Trader Sam’s. It’s a good time and more of an experience than an actual bar. You won’t be disappointed. The Polynesian has one of the best beaches on property, and you can find me there relaxing on Seven Seas Lagoon while admiring how beautiful Cinderella Castle is.

TRANSPORTATION

Let’s talk transportation! With a boat launch to Magic Kingdom, a quick monorai ride, or a walk over to the Ticket and Transportation Center for the EPCOT monorail. You are sure to find all that your heart desires at thos Tropical Oasis.
